London-based illustrator, Mark Long, uses brush, ink and good ol’ fashioned print techniques to create expressive, humorous and carefully stylised designs. “As a kid, I was a little drawing nerd and I had a folder of my best drawings, categorised into: ‘ok’, ‘good’, ‘very good’, and ‘excellent’ – which I was extremely proud of. It was mostly filled with drawings of Sonic the Hedgehog.”
Now of course he’s branched out into people, animals and anthropomorphised objects, illustrating for a variety of high-profile clients including Walker Books, Google, The Financial Times and The Independent.
