Perth local and illustrator, Ash Schmitt, has been into drawing ever since he was a kid. With a consistent style and distinctive colour palette – his scenes catch the eye and then reward you with interesting elements and an ever-present hint of quirk.

A keen hip-hop lover, Ash’s passion project is creating album art. He has worked with talented musicians including Homeboy Sandman, Aesop Rock and Mike Shinoda, to name a few.

“My parents always encouraged me to create – they even let me spray paint ‘art’ on my bedroom walls when I was 14. It looked terrible. Thankfully I’ve come a long way since then.”
